Market Overview
The major factors for the growth of the Mammography devices market in Europe include increasing prevalence of breast cancer in Europe, technological advancements in the field of breast imaging and increasing initiatives regarding breast cancer awareness in the region. Moreover, growing population also plays a major role in the increasing incidence of breast cancer.
According to World Health organization, most of the breast cancer cases occur at older age. High-incidence and mortality rates for breast cancer in this age group represent a huge unmet need for breast cancer diagnostics. As the number of incident and mortality cases are increasing, demand for mammography is also expected to increase. This remains a major driver for the mammography market and is expected to boost the market during the forecast period.

Key Market Trends
Digital Systems are expected to Cover a Large Share of the Market
Digital mammography, also called full-field digital mammography (FFDM), is a mammography systems in which the X-ray film is replaced by solid-state detectors that convert X-rays into electrical signals. These detectors are similar to those found in digital cameras. The electrical signals are thus used to produce images of the breast that can be seen on a computer screen or printed on special film similar to conventional mammograms. From the patient's point of view, having a digital mammogram is essentially the same as having a conventional film screen mammogram.
There is increasing burden of breast cancer in Europe that has increased gradually in the past few decades. Mammography screening in various countries, such as in the United Kingdom, is now digital, which offers greater precision, better quality, and higher efficiency. Thus, digital mammography is becoming the preferred choice of screening, even though the cost of the new technology is six times higher than the conventional systems. All these advantages aid in the growth of the market over the forecast period.
