Gelnex is a Brazil-based company that has gelatin production plants. Darling Ingredients has acquired five facilities in South America and one in the United States, with an annual capacity of 46,000 MT of gelatine and collagen products.
  • March 2023: A fast-growing German company, GELITA, released a new form of gelatine that is intended for use in fortified gummy manufacturing. The new gelatine, branded as CONFIXX, was said to enable the production of gummies without the need for a starch-based manufacturing process, resulting in gummies with a more sensorial profile than previously achievable. This opens up new possibilities for manufacturers of these trend-led supplements to work with various active ingredients, streamline the manufacturing process and achieve significant cost savings.
  • December 2021: The Italian-based Gelatine Group acquired the Spanish company Juncà Geltines to expand its industrial gelatine business in the food and pharmaceutical sector.
