  • In November 2022, Osaka University in Japan announced plans to develop the country's largest floating wind turbine. The Japanese civil engineering company Toda will develop the wind turbine, and it is expected to build with a capacity of 15 megawatts and 200-meter-long turbine blades, which is larger than three times the existing wind turbines.
  • In October 2022, the Chinese turbine maker CSSC Haizhuang, a member of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, introduced plans to develop a floating offshore wind turbine installed in Guangdong Province's waters. The floater, named Fuyao, is developed by CSSC's subsidiary Haizhuang Wind Power and is equipped with a 6.2 MW typhoon-resistant wind turbine with a 152-meter-long rotor diameter.
