Segment Analysis

By Type: Face Paper Accounts for the Largest Share Driven by Premiumization

Plasterboard liner face paper held 55.56% of the plasterboard liner market share in 2025 and is projected to grow at a 6.83% CAGR through 2031. Each gypsum board requires a face sheet and a back sheet, which supports the basic share position of face paper. Face paper also serves as direct decoration, making surface quality commercially important. Face paper tensile strength exceeded 7 kN/m, compared with 5.8 kN/m for standard grades. This requirement can call for multilayer kraft technology and tighter basis-weight tolerances. Higher technical requirements support the shift toward engineered face paper grades in the plasterboard liner market.
