  • June 2023: StorageMart, which operates more than 280 self-storage facilities in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, acquired I-29/I-35 Self Storage at 4121 N.E. Davidson Road in Kansas City, Missouri, and Summit Self Storage in Missouri. A portfolio of 112,296 rentable square feet in 796 apartment buildings comprises two properties.
  • June 2023: SmartStop Self Storage REIT, Inc., a self-managed and fully integrated self-storage company, announced that its affiliates, Strategic Storage Trust VI, Inc. and Strategic Growth Trust III, Inc., have acquired an eight-facility portfolio in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) totaling approximately 7,400 units and 758,000 rentable square feet. With the acquisition of these eight facilities, SmartStop's holding or management of 33 operating self-storage properties in Canada with an overall size of about 3.0 million sq. ft.
  • May 2023: According to Cushman & Wakefield & the Self Storage Association UK (SSA UK), annual turnover in the UK self-storage industry is set to exceed GBP 1 billion in 2023 as the cost-of-living crisis fails to dampen customers' appetite for the easy-access rented space.

  • March 2024: Daikin announced the acquisition of BKF Klima in Denmark to drive the region's carbon reduction efforts and expand installer upskilling opportunities. The company will also open two new facilities, a Daikin Installer Training Center and a Daikin Experience Center for consumers, at Daikin's new offices in Brondby, Denmark.   • October 2023 - Roche announced the U.S. launch of the cobas connection modules (CCM) Vertical, the elevator and overhead components of its fully automated and modular CCM system to assist low-, mid-, and high-volume laboratories in optimizing space, productivity, and patient care.
  • February 2023 - Siemens Healthineers, a leading medical technology company, and Unilabs, a leading diagnostic services provider, have announced a multi-year agreement worth more than EUR 200 million (USD 216.58 million). Unilabs has invested in top-tier Siemens Healthineers technology and will acquire more than 400 laboratory analyzers to improve its laboratory infrastructure and provide unrivaled service to its customers.
  • February 2024 - The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is supercharging its use of commercial satellite imagery and analytics with a procurement program, “Luno.” The Luno program seeks to leverage commercial satellite imagery and data analytics to enhance NGA’s global monitoring capabilities. 
  • January 2024 - The Saudi government allocated more than USD 186 billion to the Saudi Green Initiative and tremendous resources, time, and effort to tackle climate change. The Public Investment Fund (PIF) is a prime example of using idle assets for national development, focusing on generating returns and stimulating growth. To accelerate diversification across several sectors, the government has prioritized 13 sectors for profitability. PIF has deployed the most significant fresh capital in 2023, investing over USD 35 billion.
  • October 2023 - JLL, a professional services firm specializing in real estate, investment management, and development consultancy services, reported the establishment of its regional headquarters at the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh. The strategic move to the heart of the capital’s new Central Business District was unveiled at the 7th Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, where JLL’s President and Global CEO Christian Ulbrich outlined strategies and precautions that must be employed to navigate the current global real estate market. The move is part of the company’s commitment to strengthening JLL’s presence in Saudi Arabia.
  • August 2023 - Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced the establishment of the Saudi Facility Management Company (FMTECH) to offer a comprehensive range of services, including utility management, energy management, waste management, maintenance, housekeeping, security, and landscaping services.
  • February 2023 - ENGIE Impact announced its partnership with Mölnlycke to move from strategy to implementation. ENGIE is expanding its low-carbon energy expertise from Mölnlycke's operations in Malaysia, which is the company's global operations. Mölnlycke and ENGIE have entered a 15-year, low-carbon energy and services partnership to support Mölnlycke's ambitious new mid- and long-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets.
  • December 2022 - Chevron New Energies (CNE), a division of Chevron U.S.A. Inc., and Svante announced that Chevron is the lead investor in Svante’s Series E fundraising round, which raised USD 318 million that would be used to accelerate the manufacturing of Svante’s carbon capture technology. These companies are advancing a full value chain carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) business and believe Svante is poised to be a leader in enabling carbon capture solutions.
  • December 2023 - SPECIM recently launched an upgraded FX50 middle wave infrared hyperspectral camera model. The camera covers the full mid-wave infrared spectral range of 2.7 - 5.3 μm and has a 640-pixel spatial resolution, 35 nm spectral resolution, 30 μm adequate pixel size, and a maximum frame rate of 377 fps.
  • November 2023 - European Space Imaging (EUSI), a provider of Very High Resolution (VHR) satellite imagery, and Pixxel, a provider of hyperspectral earth-imaging technology, announced a strategic partnership to bring hyperspectral imaging to the European market. Combined with EUSI’s capability to build insights and products, the partnership is poised to set a new benchmark in remote sensing applications in the region.
  • June 2023 - HinaLea Imaging unveiled a new hyperspectral camera. Extended SWIR cameras like the Model 4455 cover the spectral range between 1200 and 2100 nm, making them useful for detecting and classifying chemicals and other invisible materials to near-infrared (NIR) and shortwave-infrared (SWIR) systems. The Model 4455 is designed to image 225 spectral bands at a resolution of approximately 15 nm (FWHM).
  • March 2023: Onsemi announced the launch of a new, innovative image sensor – the AR0822. The device features an embedded High Dynamic Range (HDR) and optimized near-infrared response, necessary for applications in harsh lighting conditions such as security and surveillance, body cameras, doorbell cameras, and robotics. The sensor’s low-power architecture and Wake-on-Motion features are designed to significantly reduce system power consumption. The AR0822 is an 8-megapixel stacked 1/1.8-inch (8.81mm diagonal) back-side illuminated CMOS digital image sensor based on a 2.0 µm pixel. It boasts an active-pixel array of 3840 (H) x 2160 (V) and can capture 4K video at 60 frames-per-second, offering image capture in either linear or eHDR modes (120 dB) with a rolling-shutter readout.
  • January 2023: Canon Inc. announced the development of a 1.0-inch, back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor for monitoring applications. This sensor achieves an effective pixel count of approximately 12.6 million pixels (4,152 x 3,024) and provides a dynamic range of 148 decibels. Notably, the new sensor divides the image into 736 areas and autonomously determines the best exposure settings for each area.
  • October 2023 - Nvidia teamed with Segway-Ninebot to launch a robotics development platform to accelerate the development and deployment of Autonomous Mobile Robots. The Nova Carter AMR gets its mobility from Segway's RMP Lite 220 chassis and is powered by Nvidia's chips, algorithms, and sensors, with Segway handling its integration. It also has 360° perception due to cameras and lidar, high-performance computing modules, sensors, autonomous driving development software, and tools.
  • August 2023 - ATI Industrial Automation announced that its Multi-Axis Force/Torque Sensors are compatible with FANUC's robots and Force Control Software. This collaboration opens up unique possibilities for advanced automation and precision control in robotic applications. As per the ATI, the integration of its Multi-Axis Force/Torque Sensors with FANUC's hardware and software is expected to allow users to achieve greater levels of accuracy, flexibility, and responsiveness. Integrators and manufacturers can take advantage of the enhanced sensing capabilities.
  • April 2023: TGW Logistics Group announced to offer of new and existing customer innovative visualization dashboards for optimizing the performance of the intralogistics system. With the help of this dashboard, data from many different software sources can be combined, analyzed, and processed graphically, from goods-in monitoring to the warehouse area to the sorters and scanners.
  • March 2023: KNAPP AG developed innovative robotics for automation and digitalization at the LogiMAT 2023 trade fair. Its robot solutions are expected to help lower costs in logistics processes while increasing shipping capacity. The company calls this new, future-proof approach zero-touch fulfillment.
