• March 2023: Constantia announced that it had acquired the Clean organization Drukpol Flexo. Drukpol Flexo is a well-established player in the Clean, flexible packaging market. This acquisition further enhanced the Gathering's flexo printing capabilities following the acquisitions of Propak and FFP. In addition, it expands the Group's local customer base and increases its cost-competitiveness.
• March 2023: Toppan established a new facility in Most, Czech Republic. Toppan intends to begin mass production at its first European transparent barrier film manufacturing location by the end of 2024. With the opening of the new factory, Toppan will develop a market-leading and global supply capacity for transparent barrier films, with manufacturing bases in Japan, North America (Georgia, the United States), and Europe.
• April 2023: Gualapack Spa announced the acquisition of Print & Packaging Farma, which will help the company grow its portfolio of products and services for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical clients.

• April 2023: Egypt and India laid the foundation stone for a USD 110 million PET production factory in Ain Sokhna, Suez governorate. A monthly output capacity of 30,000 tonnes is anticipated for the project. Construction is expected to be completed in two stages, the first of which will begin in the first half of 2024 and the second in the middle of 2025.
• November 2022: Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging Ltd's second BOPP film line was established in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, representing a significant investment in the African plastic packaging market. This investment is in response to the increasing demand for high-quality packaging film on the African continent, particularly in Nigeria. Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging Ltd made a significant commitment to satisfy Africa's growing packaging needs by establishing a new BOPP film line with a width of 8.7 meters and an annual production capacity of 42,000 tons. BOPP films are widely utilized in various applications, such as flexible packaging, labeling, and laminating, making them an indispensable component of the packaging industry.

• April 2023: Stora Enso's Trayforma BarrPeel is an innovative, easy-peeling board material for vacuum skin packs that allows for the packing of fresh food on recycled paperboard trays. Trayforma BarrPeel helps brand owners achieve their sustainability goals by removing plastic from less than 10% of the tray.
• August 2022: A Swedish roaster, Arvid Nordquist, partnered with packaging business Syntegon to use vacuum coffee packaging technology to reduce CO2 emissions and fossil-based film utilization.

• March 2023: Amcor, a company that creates and manufactures environment-friendly packaging solutions, announced a joint research project agreement with NfiniteNanotechnology Inc. to validate the application of Nfinite's nanocoating technology to improve packaging that can be recycled and composted.
• January 2023: Avery Dennison announced a major investment to expand its manufacturing capacity in the Americas region by constructing a new manufacturing facility in Queretaro, Mexico. The investment supports his goal of being the world's largest RFID provider to give each item a unique digital ID. Technologies developed at the new facility are expected to create a more connected and transparent supply chain, improving efficiency across multiple industries. Avery Dennison expects to invest more than USD 100 million.

• October 2022, Sigma Middle East Labels Industries, based in the UAE, installed a Lombardi Synchroline530 flexo press. Vinsak, a local Lombardi presses dealer, provided the equipment. Vinsakincludes printing and packaging technologies throughout the Middle East, Africa, and India.
• September 2022, PRINT Library, one of the leading suppliers of printed packaging, turned its business after investing EUR 250,000 (USD 275,000) in new technology to produce antiviral coatings for food packaging around by putting sustainability at its core. The company's water-based coatings for printing mean that the packaging has a more hygienic feel yet is entirely biodegradable, compostable, and recyclable, allowing customers to contribute to corporate responsibility and sustainability.

• March 2023- Al Ain Water, a major water provider in the United Arab Emirates, created a new water container made of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET). Because it requires 75% less energy to produce than virgin PET and emits 75% less carbon dioxide during manufacture, recycled PET has a better ecological balance than glass and single-use aluminum cans.
• September 2022- KeryasPaper Industry LLC announced to set up of their upcoming Kraft liner project in the United Arab Emirates with a capacity of 200,000 Metric Ton Per Annum (MTPA) at an investment of USD 40 million for the pulp and paper manufacturing unit.
• August 2022- Symphony Environmental Solutions Plc, a company that makes plastic products smarter, safer, and more sustainable, announced a production agreement between the firm and EcobatchPlastic Factory in the United Arab Emirates. The production of Ecobatchplastic factory's biodegradable d2w masterbatch is covered under this Agreement, primarily for supplying masterbatches to manufacturers of rigid plastic packaging products in the GCC.

With its sleek packaging using modern colors, water is produced in conformity with the highest global standards and specifications, using the latest equipment, locally and internationally, and innovative technologies. Such launches drive the market growth for labeling in the beverage industry.

• September 2022 - Detmold Group announced the partnership with Foodland to reduce single-use plastics and to redesign the core packaging products used within the bakery section in grocery stores. The product range includes flat bags, cake boxes, and bread bags.
• August 2022 - Woolworths announced that all its South Australian and the Northern Territory stores would voluntarily phase out the 15-cent reusable plastic shopping bags. The move is significant because it results in the annual removal of over 916 tons of plastic from South Australia and the Northern Territory. This is similar to a change in Western Australia later this year, removing over 800 tons of plastic from landfills annually.

• February 2023: Ara Partners announced the acquisition of Genera Energy Inc., a non-wood agricultural pulp and molded fiber products company. The firm also committed additional funding to support the significant expansion of its sustainable pulp and packaging business.
• February 2023: Mill Rock Packaging Partners LLC acquired Keystone Paper & Box Company. This leading specialty packaging company manufactures custom folding cartons for consumer and healthcare end markets.
• January 2023: Cascades, a packaging firm based in North America, disclosed releasing a new closed basket for the produce industry made of recyclable and recycled corrugated cardboard. This new product is the most recent addition to Cascades' collection of environment-friendly packaging and serves as an alternative to food packaging that is challenging to recycle. This product was created utilizing acknowledged eco-design principles. It adheres to a circular economy philosophy. Cascades are helping its clients lessen their environmental impact by incorporating recycled corrugated cardboard in its design and satiating consumer desire for more environment-friendly packaging.

In February 2023, Kruger Packaging, a Canadian corrugated packaging firm, revealed plans to upgrade its Place Turcot containerboard mill in Montréal, Canada. It planned to install advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence technology at the mill and upgrade its existing manufacturing equipment. The cost of the project was estimated at CAD 30 million (USD 22.4 million).

In February 2022, Georgia-Pacific LLC invested significantly in its corrugated plant in Owosso, Michigan. Newer equipment will enhance the plant's throughput and printability to meet customer needs better. The advancements include a new corrugator, converter, single facer, preheater, glue machine, and control systems and an upgrade to the current single facer and unitizer. Owosso can extend its customer base by allowing the double wall capability and providing expanded products to existing customers.
