  • December 2022: A European NATO customer entered into a contract with Rheinmetall to supply a maximum of 300,000 rounds of 40mm ammunition, consisting of LV (low velocity) and HV (high velocity) variants. The contract includes a first call-off of approximately 75,000 cartridges.
  • January 2022: The German Bundeswehr signed a contract with Rheinmetall AG to modernize its mortar systems and provide 120mm mortar ammunition. The contract is worth approximately EUR 27 million (USD 30 million) and will be completed by 2023.

November 2023: The United States and India signed a partnership agreement to co-produce Stryker armored vehicles to boost India’s military capabilities.

  • November 2021: The Israeli Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced that the Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO) was testing an aerostat with a new radar capable of detecting long-range threats. The High Availability Aerostat System (HAAS) was manufactured by the US company TCOM. The radar was developed with the US Missile Defense Agency and Elta Systems Ltd., a subsidiary of IAI.
  • February 2024: Italy plans to acquire 132 Leopard 2A8IT main battle tanks for EUR 8.2 billion. The project’s timeframe is estimated at approximately 14 years.
  • March 2022: India signed a contract to procure 350 light battle tanks (LBTs) with a total value of USD 1.9 billion. The operational difficulties associated with using heavy main battle tanks (MBTs) in mountain warfare pushed India's light tank program.
  • March 2022: The British Army began working on its next-generation main battle tank (MBT), the Challenger 3 upgrade. The 148 Challenger 3s, to be upgraded from the existing Challenger 2s at a cost of around USD 1.3 billion, will be expected to ensure these capabilities remain intact until at least 2040.

April 2023: The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) approved a program to build a new air-to-air electronic warfare platform (AEWP). The AEWP program is expected to last from 2024 through 2032. The total cost of the AEWP project is estimated to be USD 1.41 billion.

September 2022: KT SAT Corporation Ltd (KT SAT), the leading satellite service provider in Korea, and Thales Alenia Space forged a contract to provide KOREASAT 6A communications satellite. KORESAT 6A will replace the current KORESAT 6 satellite and provide both Fixed Satellite Service (FSS) and Broadcast Satellite Service (BSS) to Korea.

Oct 2023: BAE Systems PLC was awarded a USD 4.82 million contract to build a new generation of submarines as a part of the AUKUS pact between the US, UK, and Australia.

Jun 2023: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) signed a contract for the realization of two Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) System Modules for the Kalvari Class of submarines of the Indian Navy.

  • September 2023: Elbit Systems announced that it would present Skylark 3 Hybrid Small Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems (STUAS) for the first time at the Singapore Airshow. The Skylark 3 Hybrid system is equipped with a hybrid propulsion system that offers 18 hours of operations and improves mission effectiveness and cost efficiency.
  • March 2023: Singapore’s Ministry of Defense exercised an option to acquire eight F-35B Lightning II Fighter multirole combat aircraft from Lockheed Martin Corporation. The contract was signed in 2020 for 12 F-35Bs to be delivered by the end of the decade for the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).

February 2023: India's Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approved the procurement of the Futuristic Infantry Combat Vehicle (FICV) for the Indian Army. The FICV would have an automated activation response system that would suppress the fire within 130 milliseconds in the crew compartment and 10 seconds in engine compartments.

April 2022: Georgia received the modernized M2A4 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, and the army plans to acquire more than 700 of the new M2A4 Bradleys through 2029. The procurement of the M2A4 Bradley Fighting Vehicle is the country’s long effort to upgrade its Bradley Fighting Vehicles.

  • August 2023: Collins Aerospace, a part of RTX Corporation, was awarded a USD 24 million contract for producing and delivering electric generators with containers to the USArmy Anniston Depot to support its Abrams M1A2 Main Battle Tank.
  • April 2023: EnerSys, the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, acquired Industrial Battery and Charger Services Limited (IBCS), a leading battery service and maintenance provider in the UK. The acquisition represents a strategic move for EnerSys, enabling the company to expand its motive power service offerings and strengthen its presence in the UK market.
  • October 2023: The security division of OSI Systems, Inc., was awarded a ten-year contract to supply an integrated screening system at ports and borders in Uruguay. As per the contract, OSI Systems will deploy and integrate the EAGLE T60 high-energy system and trailer-mounted vehicle inspection systems and perform security screening and remote image analysis.
  • August 2023: Mitie (UK) extended its contract with Associated British Ports (ABP), ensuring security services for 17 UK ports. Initially granted a three-year contract in 2021, this extension pushes their collaboration through 2025. Mitie's primary focus is safeguarding ABP locations and securing passengers and cargo as they enter and leave the UK. Their responsibilities include managing entry gate barriers, performing patrols, vehicle inspections, and monitoring CCTV systems at most port sites to deter potential criminal activity and antisocial behavior.
  • December 2022: Elbit Systems Ltd. announced it will supply the Skylark I LEX Unmanned Aerial Systems to the Australian army. Skylark I-LEX is designed for the in-house operation by the moving forces and features a 40-km Line Of Sight range that makes it useful for several roles, including force protection and reconnaissance operations.
  • October 2022: The Government of India approved creating the Weapon Systems (WS) branch. The WS branch would encompass operators in four specialized streams of Surface-to-Surface missiles, Surface-to-Air missiles, Remotely Piloted Aircraft, and Weapon System Operators in twin/multi-crew aircraft. The branch will contribute immensely by enhancing the war-fighting capability of the Indian Air Force.
