  • In August 2022, Swedish-Kenyan mobility company ROAM has announced the launch of the first all-electric bus built for local transport in Africa, following the launch of the first production model of an electric motorcycle.   • April 2023: First Hydrogen introduced a novel zero-emission recreational vehicle (RV), utilizing fuel cell technology in collaboration with the EDAG Group. This partnership seeks to apply fuel cell electric technology to larger vehicles, showcasing the advantage of handling higher payloads and achieving longer ranges compared to battery electric vehicles (BEVs) for RVs. Their inaugural van is designed to cover distances ranging from 249 to 373 miles (400 to 600 kilometers) on a single five-minute refueling, with the expected range for the Gen 2 vehicle yet to be disclosed.
  • January 2023: Winnebago Industries debuted its inaugural fully electric RV, the "eRV2," at the Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa. This emission-free model operates all systems—both house and powertrain—on electricity, supporting up to seven days of "boondocking" solely on batteries. The RV incorporates accessories crafted from recyclable and biodegradable materials, complemented by a 900-watt solar capacity for extended off-grid stays. Its 48-volt battery system offers over 15,000 usable watt-hours, cleverly stored beneath the floor in a thin, space-maximizing design. Sustainable practices extend to the interior with recycled flooring, mattresses, and other materials. At the same time, the customizable broad-color spectrum lighting aims to reduce light pollution, benefitting local flora and fauna.
  • MAY 2022: Mercury introduced two new 25 hp and 30 hp four-stroke outboards equipped with the 3-cylinder powerhead. Introducing SmartCraft technologies enables features that have never been available for many boats in this class.

  • Jun 2023: Swedish electric self-driving truck company Einride partnered with Scandinavia's leading postal service, PostNord, to reduce CO2 emissions in Norway by 2,100 tonnes over the coming three years. Six trucks were deployed in the Oslo region in June 2022, but the goal is to reach 35 electric-connected trucks by June 2024.

  • Oct 2023: GreenPower, a West Virginia-based electric bus maker, unveiled the Mega BEAST, a ramped-up version of the BEAST (“Battery Electric Automotive School Transportation”), its Type D electric school bus that has a 140-mile range. The new model will be manufactured at GreenPower’s facilities in both California and South Charleston, West Virginia, beginning in 2024.
  • Sept 2023: Phoenix Motor Inc. announced a contract order for ten all-electric, zero-emission Type-A school buses in the District of Columbia. The Phoenix Type-A School Buses will be built on a Ford E-450 chassis powered by Phoenix’s 150-mile range battery electric drive system and a Pegasus Orion school bus body.

The company also stated that they would continue the semi-knocked down (SKD) production of the Suzuki compact car in the country.
  • October 2022: Israel-based company SIXAI and Japanese auto and motorcycle parts manufacturer Musashi Seimitsu announced a joint plan to produce and lease millions of battery-powered motorcycles in Ghana and Nigeria. The plan aims to offer environmentally friendly vehicles to drivers and eventually develop a full-scale local assembly plant in the Abuja and Accra regions of Ghana.
  • March 2022: SolarTaxi, the first e-mobility company established in Ghana, launched Africa's first electric car on a ride-hailing app to offer customers a green and cleaner option for their convenience at a cheaper rate.
  • November 2022: Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) announced the importation of several RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles (PHEV) to test customer response, vehicle behavior, infrastructure requirements, and other technical aspects, as well as educate customers on plug-in technology. It is also the second phase of TSAM's New Energy Vehicle (NEV) roll-out strategy, following the hybrid vehicle expansion strategy across Toyota's mainstream product lines.

  • October 2022,: BYD announced that it had opened its first store in Brasilia, Brazil's capital, in collaboration with Saga Group, the country's largest dealer.   • November 2022: According to BYD's official Weibo account, BYD's new luxury car brand is called "Yangwang." It will have a new and independent team for branding, products, sales and services network, and operation, with products expected to be officially launched in Q1 2023.
  • August 2022: Infiniti announced the official launch of the QX55, an all-new luxury SUV, in China at the 2022 Chengdu Motor Show. It will be sold as an imported model in the country. It is available in four variants (one FWD and three AWD), with prices ranging from CNY 389,800 (USD 55,987.36) to CNY 475,300 (USD 68,267.81).
  • August 2022: In Wuhan, Hubei Province, Dongfeng Motor Company Limited (Dongfeng Motor) held a press conference. Dongfeng Motor introduced Mengshi, a luxury off-road EV (electric vehicle) brand, and its exclusive "M" logo at the conference. The Mengshi brand's first model will hit the market in 2023.
