  • April 2023: Shopee has announced that ShopeePay is Available in Thailand as a payment method to buy Apple services, such as the app store, icloud storage, etc. Customers can use their Shopee Pay account to pay for things like Apple Music, Oscar TV apps, iTunes store purchases, etc. Adding a mobile wallet as an Apple ID payment method offers a new and more convenient way for payments with Apple services while allowing you to make one-tap purchases on products like iPhone, iPad, or Mac without using your credit card.
  • November 2022: Google Pay and Wallet have launched in Thailand as the pandemic has filled a fear of cash across every customer, and while contactless payment options were widely available and used in other countries, Thailand can also have a boarding pass stored in Google Wallet so that you don't need to carry paper passes when flying, which makes it slightly more convenient.

With no additional hardware or installation costs, the PayContactless solution enables Android phones to be transformed into secure payment terminals that accept contactless cards, mobile wallets and even smartwatches.
  • August 2022 - The Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) launched BNZ Pay, a mobile app for merchants/retailers that transforms an Android device into a contactless payment terminal. Developed with Quest Payment Systems and Visa, BNZ Pay is being launched with no monthly costs to retailers who settle into a BNZ account until January 2024.
  • May 2022 - To roll out a new version of QR Pay in the mobile apps of 35 banks around the country, e-wallet SmartPay collaborated with Viet Capital Bank. The National Payment Services Corporation (Napas), which developed the VietQR (QR code standard), was used to create the current configuration of the QR Pay function. The collaboration would enable all users of the banks' mobile applications to scan the new QR code and make real-time payments at any of SmartPay's 667,000 payment locations.

The move is seen as a significant milestone in the advancement of cashless payments in Vietnam and will see substantial banks supporting the service from its launch, including VPBank, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB), Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB), Sacombank, Techcombank, and Vietcombank.
