  • July 2023: Saudi developer ACWA Power inked financing agreements with a group of investors to build two solar projects, Al Shuaibah 1 and Al Shuaibah 2, with estimated investments of USD 2.2 billion, which could likely help the renewable energy market to grow at a rapid pace.
  • November 2023: The NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) noted the receiving of wind turbines at the Port of NEOM. The NGHC’s Wind Garden would consist of approximately 250 wind turbines that would energize electricity to green hydrogen power plants in Saudi Arabia.

  • February 2024: Iran commenced the construction of four additional nuclear power plants in the southern part of the country. These plants will have a combined capacity of 5,000 MW. The plants will be located in the port town of Sirik on Iran's East coast, about 1,150 km South of Tehran. The project is estimated to cost more than USD 20 billion. Each plant is projected to consume 35 tonnes of nuclear fuel per annum.
  • February 2024: India announced plans to add 18 additional nuclear power reactors with a cumulative capacity to generate 13,800 MWe of electricity, taking the total share of nuclear power in the energy mix to 22,480 MWe by 2031-2032. The plans were announced by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL).
  • January 2024: The UK government announced plans for one of the country's most significant expansions of nuclear power in 70 years to strengthen its energy independence and meet carbon emission targets. The Civil Nuclear Roadmap includes exploring the construction of a significant new power station, with a total investment of about USD 382 million of investment to produce an advanced uranium fuel.
  • In December 2023, the "GR-Eco Islands" initiative, which aims to develop 7 MW of solar power on Poros Island, was approved by Masdar and the Greek government. To encourage residents and tourists to adopt electric transportation, the project will include chargers for electric cars and boats.
  • In May 2023, Greece Introduced a USD 261 Million Solar Rooftop Incentive. The 10.8 kW threshold is eligible for subsidy. The farmers can receive between 40% and 60% for the solar system, while the subsidies range from 45% to 75% for the other. Furthermore, the maximum subsidy for a solar panel system with a battery is EUR 16,000 (approximately USD 17,519) for households and EUR 10,000 for farmers.
  • In November 2022, Iberdrola announced the commencement of the Askio III wind farm in Macedonia, Greece. With an installed energy capacity of 50 MW, the farm will be able to provide enough clean, cheap, and locally-made energy to meet the needs of more than 54,000 homes every year.
  • September 2023: JA Solar Technology, China-based firm has bagged the contract from Dutch developer Ecorus, which will be will be providing equipment for a solar project in the Netherlands for a capacity of 103.5 MW. The solar project, the Fledderbosch park, is expected to go live early next year in 2024. The solar farm is poised to to be the second-largest solar farm in the country. 
  • April 2023: A Dutch startup named Oceans of Energy, a joint venture between Shell and Eneco, secured the contract from CrossWind, to install floating solar PV panels at an offshore wind farm in the North Sea, Netherlands. The company has been tasked with building a 0.5MW floating array between wind turbines at the 750MW Hollands Kust Noord wind farm, located 18.5km off the coast of the Netherlands.   
  • July 2023: the Ministry of Energy, Romania, launched a thirty-day consultation on a draft law on the requirements for Romania's first offshore wind farms in the Black Sea, which are expected to finalize in 2027-2028. The country has also proposed to auction 3 gigawatts of offshore wind under a contract-for-difference (CfD) scheme.
  • May 2023: OX2, one of Europe's Sweden-based leading developers of renewable energy sources, in May 2023 has launched a cooperation with global engineering firm Bilfinger Tebodin in the initial engineering stages for the development of an onshore windfarm in the Galati area of Romania.
  • September 2023: KSB Group supplied a total of Over 300 submerged pumps, including all components from KSB's Amarex KRT and Amarex N range, to the Bailonggang wastewater treatment in Shanghai, Eastern China. It is the biggest wastewater treatment plant in Asia, with the capacity to dispose of wastewater produced by around 3.6 million people.
  • June 2023: Tricel Pumps, headquartered in Killarney, Ireland, announced the acquisition of the long-established Edincare Pumps, which offered a variety of pumps and pumping systems, including submerged pumps, macerator pumps, sewage pumps, and packaged pumping stations to the water industry in the United Kingdom.

• September 2023: Renault Group announced that it has plans to invest USD 400 million in the South American Country, Brazil, which includes a new vehicle platform to be produced in its Parana state industrial complex in Brazil that would allow the company to produce internal combustion engines in these facilities.

• July 2023: BYD announced that it will build three factories 50 km from Salvador in the Camaçari complex, Brazil, with an initial investment of USD 620 million. The second manufacturing unit will produce PHEV, with an estimated 150,000 units/ year capacity in the first phase.

  • In September 2023, Ireland-based Power Capital Renewable Energy (PCRE) signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with American multinational technology firm Google. The agreement will help power up the data centre and offices of Google in Ireland with solar energy worth 58 MW capacity.
  • In August 2023, the United Kingdom IT solutions provider SCC installed solar panels on its data center in Birmingham. The company announced it had installed solar panels at its flagship CV1 facility in partnership with renewable energy firm Conrad Energy. The 737kWp roof-mounted solar-PV system will cover over five percent of the facility’s total energy needs.
  • March 2023, Larsen & Turbo business won an order to establish 765kV gas-insulated and air-insulated substation bays at the pooling and remote end substations in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, India, where gigawatts of solar and wind energy generation projects are being developed.
  • April 2022, General Electric (GE)'s Grid Solutions secured a contract to construct substations for ReNew Power's Koppal-Narendra transmission project in Karnataka. The contract for the Koppal-Narendra project connected by GE's Grid Solutions business entails the construction of a 400/220KV air-insulated substation at Koppal, a 400KV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substation at Narendra and two 125 MVAr 400KV reactors for each of Koppal and Narendra substations.
