• March 2023: BASF announced plans to expand its polymer dispersions production capacity by adding a second production line at its site in the Daya Bay Petrochemical Industrial Park in Guangdong, China.
• January 2022: The Bodo Möller Chemie Group and Evonik Industries announced a cooperation agreement for special binders and additives specifically for the paint and varnish industry and textile, leather finishing, and printing inks in East Africa. The collaboration for specialty chemicals will initially be for the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi. The products offered will be matting agents, antistatic additives, rheology agents, defoamers, wetting agents, tackifying agents, dispersants, silicone resins, and silicone-modified binders.

• April 2023: Benjamin Moore & Co launched a new exterior paint called Element Guard, specifically designed to be applied on a variety of substrates, including wood. This paint is formulated to provide excellent resistance against cracking and peeling, as well as protection from mildew, excessive humidity, and other harsh weather conditions.
• January 2023: Asian Paints announced its plans to invest in a new manufacturing facility for waterborne paints, with a capacity of 4 lakh KL per annum. The facility is also expected to manufacture waterborne wood coatings. The operation of this facility is set to commence by the year 2026.
• December 2022: The Sherwin-Williams Company announced the successful completion of its acquisition of the ICA Group. This acquisition significantly expands the company's wood division in the performance coatings group operating segment. ICA Group, known for its presence in India and exports to Middle Eastern and African countries, will enable Sherwin-Williams to strengthen its position in these regions and enhance the overall capabilities of the company for industrial wood coating products.

• In August 2022, Hogenas divested its binder-jetting AM technology producer (Digital Metal). This position will strengthen the company's work for increased investments and acquisitions in the metal powder space.
• In June 2021, Oerlikon Metco acquired the Italian company Inglass S.p.A, thereby acquiring the company's innovative hot runner system technologies. The acquisition enabled Oerlikon Metco to expand into markets with strong growth potential.

• In April 2022, PPG acquired Arsonsisi, an industrial coatings company based in Milan, Italy. This acquisition is expected to help the company to enhance its business for low-friction coatings and maximize its reach throughout Europe.
• In June 2021, The FUCHS Group acquired the lubricants business of Gleitmo Technik AB in Kungsbacka, Sweden. Through this acquisition, the company broadened its product portfolio.

• In September 2022, Hempel launched a new protective coating, Hempablade Edge 171, for leading-edge protection (LEP) on wind turbine rotor blades. The product has the highest rain erosion performance data for a liquid LEP, and some of the lowest dry film thicknesses provide long-term protection against rain erosion and reduce time and costs during application.
• In June 2022, Hempel launched a new product, Hemaprime CUI 275, which is a fast-drying CUI coating. This coating is highly resistant to corrosion and temperature. The product is made to increase production and provide protection against corrosion in the energy segment and oil and gas stations.

• July 2022: The Sherwin-Williams Company announced that it had completed its acquisition of the European industrial coatings business of Sika AG. The acquired business will become part of Sherwin-Williams' Performance Coatings Group operating segment.
• August 2021: PPG announced the introduction of PPG HI-TEMP 1027 HD coating, which is a next-generation, ambient-cure coating engineered for challenging corrosion-under-insulation (CUI) conditions. It provides excellent protection against corrosion on pipes, vessels, and construction parts when plants are in operation.

• In February 2022, Element Six UK Ltd collaborated with II-VI Inc. Through this collaboration, II-VI licenses Element Six's intellectual property and necessary equipment would produce high-quality single-crystal diamonds to expand its core competency in diamond technology.
• In July 2021, Element Six UK LTD and the University of Warwick entered a partnership to develop the next generation of synthetic diamond-enabled technologies. Under this partnership, Element Six applied its renowned expertise and capabilities in advanced material solutions.

• March 2022: Cabot Corporation sold off its activated carbon unit, Norit Activated Carbon, to One Equity Partners. Following the divestiture, Norit Activated Carbon became an independent company serving its customers with a broad portfolio of activated carbon solutions through its ten production facilities in seven countries.

In June 2023, Saint-Gobain signed an agreement to acquire cement board producer Hume Cemboard Industries. Through this acquisition, the company strengthened its lightweight product offering in Malaysia.

In February 2023, Everest Industries Limited intended to establish a manufacturing unit on a 20-acre site in Chamarajanagar's Badanaguppe Kellambali KIADB layout with an investment of USD 22.5 million. Their new facility is expected to produce 72,000 metric tons (MT) of fiber cement board and 19000 MT of Rapicon wall panels.

• In March 2023, Universal Matter UK Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Universal Matter Inc., announced the acquisition of Applied Graphene Materials UK Limited and Applied Graphene Materials LLC, the principal operating subsidiaries of Applied Graphene Materials PLC. Through the acquisition, the company has strengthened its market presence.
• In February 2023, Global Graphene Group announced that Honeycomb Battery Company, an advanced battery technology subsidiary of Global Graphene Group, Inc., signed a business combination agreement with Nubia Brand International Corp. to develop battery materials. Honeycomb Battery Company is expected to use graphene produced by the Global Graphene Group.
