  • April 2022: A new generation of shrimp post-larvae prepared diets, introduced by the Zeigler Brothers, who say it will be a successful alternative to the usage of Artemia. Zeigler claims the diet includes easily absorbed microparticles that have been "microencapsulated to safeguard sensitive colors, fatty acids, enzymes, vitamins, and other nutrients" in an easily digestible matrix.
  • April 2022: The Mobile Fish Feed Mill (CIFE Model), developed by the FNBP Division of the ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education in Mumbai, Maharashtra, was officially launched by Jatindra Nath Swain, Secretary (Fisheries), Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India.
  • February 2022: The first fish feed producing and exporting facility in India, Taiyo Feed Mill Pvt Ltd, headquartered in Chennai, launched insect-based meals for fish and turtles called "BUGS IN." The company claims that the BUGS-IN is the idea of a sustainable and wholesome fish diet with premium ingredients derived from Black Soldier Fly Larvae that form the basis of fish food.

May 2022: Hipromine announced a partnership with WEDA Dammann & Westerkamp GmbH, a supplier of feeding technology solutions. As part of this venture, Weda supplies HiProMine with insects, including Black Soldier Fly (BSFL), aiding the company's development of its pet and animal nutrition products.

  • November 2022: De Heus Inaugurated its first premix factory in Asia at May Industrial Park, Trang Bom district, Vietnam. It has a capacity of 60,000 tons. This will enable the company to ensure product quality and supply, reduce costs for the farmers and increase their production efficiency in Vietnam and the whole of Asia.

The agreement combines Innovafeed's expertise in formulating precision insect ingredients and Cargill's global animal nutrition capabilities to scale up the use of insect ingredients in multiple types of animal feed.
