Europe Automotive Logistics Market Analysis

The Europe Automotive Logistics Market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of approximately 6% during the forecast period (2023-2028).

  • The Europe region is expected to develop at a rapid pace due to an increase in automotive volumes from ports and plants to railways and trucking businesses. European automotive logistics businesses are expanding their business with China and adopting the Europe-China railway route for automobile components and final cars. Germany dominates the market and is expected to take the majority of it over the forecast period. As one of the main luxury automobile manufacturers, Germany has around 70% of OEM manufacturers of premium cars and SUVs. Europe has 301 vehicle assembly and engine manufacturing plants of which 194 are located within the European Union.
  • Germany, United Kingdom, France, and Italy are expected to play a dominant role in the growth of the market during the forecast period. These countries have stringent emission norms for automobiles because of increasing carbon percent in the environment at an alarming rate creating a positive outlook for the market.
  • The auto logistics sector has also embraced the China-Europe rail route with increasing numbers of deals covering not just components, but cars as well. Gefco has been operating on the route for more than four years and recently deployed its first, dedicated block train to France, carrying car parts to a PSA plant in FEU containers. DB Cargo has been transporting BMW components from its two German plants to its factory in Shenyang, in northern China, since 2010, and is now shipping about 2,500 containers a year on the twice-weekly service. And last year Europe's largest rail freight operator began shipping Volvo cars from a plant in China's northeastern province of Heilongjiang to the port of Zeebrugge.
