Solar Energy is Expected to Witness Significant Growth
- Egypt has a high potential for electricity generation through solar PV plants across the country. It is considered a sunbelt country with 2,000 to 3,000 kWh/m2/year of direct solar radiation. The county's sunshine stands about 9-11 hours a day from north to south, with few cloudy days.
- According to the International Renewable Energy Agency, in 2022, Egypt's total solar energy installed capacity accounted for 1,724 MW, an annual growth rate of 3.6% compared to the previous year. Supportive Government Regulations Expected to Drive the Market
