Private wireless networks are useful in large outdoor yards, multistory plants, and sites where worker movement crosses coverage boundaries. They can support real-time video, augmented-reality guidance, and safety-critical communications where patchy coverage would otherwise limit use. Nokia found that 94% of industrial enterprises deploying on-premise edge technology did so alongside private wireless networks. Bluetooth remains important for short-range wearables, tagged assets, and proximity alerts.
