Hydrogen Peroxide Segment is Expected to Hold a Significant Growth Rate Over the Forecast Period

Bio-decontamination agents such as hydrogen peroxide can be used in the hospital and other healthcare to clean the facilities and decontaminate them from infectious microorganisms. Hydrogen peroxide is a commonly used decontaminant in hospitals. It helps reduce the spread of hospital-acquired infections such as ventilator-associated pneumonia, hospital-acquired pneumonia, and Clostridium difficile infections.

According to an article published by NCBI in March 2022, hydrogen peroxide-based decontamination technologies are widespread. It demonstrated an efficacy equal to that of traditionally employed methods when paired with advancements in their delivery systems. The use of hydrogen peroxide de-contamination systems in laboratories has been studied and compared. According to the same source, a study showed that vaporous hydrogen peroxide and moist heat have the most promise as potential methods to decontaminate N95 respirators. Moreover, hydrogen peroxide gas plasma (HPGP) and aerosolized hydrogen peroxide have also been suggested as possible techniques for decontamination in personal protective equipment.
