To provide Australia with 24-hour coverage, four more satellites are planned to launch in 2023. In August 2022, Airbus Defence and Space and the Government of South Australia announced their intentions to build a specialized facility at Australian Space Park in Adelaide to support the manufacturing capacity and competence of the country's space sector. By manufacturing satellites weighing up to 300 kg, Airbus' operation at the Australian Space Park would significantly increase Australia's capacity for producing sovereign spacecraft. This represents a significant improvement over the size and technology of satellites presently constructed in Australia.
