Volatility in Methyl Methacrylate and Other Raw Material Prices
MMA is the primary feedstock for PMMA sheet production, so its price directly affects manufacturing costs. Röhm announced a global price adjustment for selected PMMA grades in April 2025 because of tariff-related increases in raw material and goods costs. The company also announced a European price increase of up to EUR 0.08/kg for PLEXIGLAS and PLEXIMID molding compounds effective in April 2026. Smaller converters without long-term feedstock contracts can find these changes difficult to pass through in tender-based sales.
