The Alder Stream Optane SSD will be available in a single port configuration this year and a dual-port configuration in 2021, according to Intel. Alder Stream employs second-generation 3D XPoint media, which has four layers as opposed to two in the first version. It features a new controller ASIC with the most up-to-date software and PCIe 4 link technology.
