Market Trends of Africa and Middle East Automotive TPMS Industry

This section covers the major market trends shaping the Africa & Middle East Automotive TPMS Market according to our research experts:

Direct TPMS is the Fastest Growing TPMS Technology

TPMS provides a wide range of advantages, correctly filled tires have lower rolling resistance and suffer lesser tire abrasion, which significantly increases the service life of tires. Secondly, the fuel consumption and thus, emissions of CO2 can be lowered. Thirdly, with shorter braking distances and excellent cornering stability, it offers a comfortable ride.

Air pressure monitoring systems are also offered as direct and indirect systems. Indirect systems help record the data and determine the loss of air pressure due to the wheel's increased speed. While direct systems measure and archive accurate air pressure data using built-in sensors to the valves. Direct systems can detect both slow diffusion losses and rapid pressure losses on a tire. As a result we see Direct systems being accommodated in larger number of vehicles

Diect TPMS usually finds major applications in the passenger vehicle segment, where tire pressure management is considered to be a critical safety system. The automotive industry has been stepping up on introducing features that aid in minimizing the impact of collisions, reduce fatalities, and improve overall vehicle safety. This, in turn, is fueling the growth of the automotive TPMS market during the forecast period.

Africa and Middle East TPMS Market Trends

Saudi Arabia is Leading the Market in 2019

In Saudi Arabia, commencements of projects to improve road safety by the Ministry of Transport (MoT) with the growing focus on fuel efficiency and sustainability, as well as the burgeoning automotive industry in the kingdom, is driving the TPMS market in Saudi Arabia.

In 2018, the Ministry of Transport in the kingdom had initiated eight road safety projects. These include establishing the National Road Safety Centre and three more projects related to traffic safety equipment. In 2020, the first tire plant was set up by the National Tire Company in Jubail's industrial zone. The production is expected to start in 2021, which will positively impact the demand for TPMS in Saudi Arabia.

The automotive industry is seeing positive sign in Saudi Arabia ever since the country has lifted the ban on women from driving vehicles. This move allowed numerous women to drive and helped the demand in the car sales across Saudi Arabia, as many women with valid driving licenses were finally able to access their own cars. As a result, many OEM manufacturers are providing extended TMPS in the passenger segment. As a result, with the rise in sale of passenger cars, TPMS is expected to remain in demand for the forecasted period.
